The Beginning

From the time I was young, I have been a fan of the Three D’s. I guess it’s understandable since my dad was a member of the group. As I grew older I enjoyed other kinds of music, including a stint as a fan of heavy metal.  But I still enjoyed the music that dad created. Eventually, I went to my dad and asked him about improving his website and making his music more widely available. He eventually agreed and we revamped the website, redid  the packaging on many of the CDs and made most of his music available electronically on iTunes, CD Baby and other music stores, and on online radio stations like Spotify, Rdio, Rhapsody and Xbox Music.

The reason I wanted to promote this music is because I honestly think this is some of the best music I have heard. It has a unique sound. The Three D’s were made up of three tenors and when their voices meld and move around each other in songs like ” The Unknown Grave” on the Mormon Heritage CD or the beautiful renditions of children’s songs on the LDS Children’s CD it is unlike anything I know that has been produced.

In addition to the beautiful voices, the Three D’s brought original compositions and arrangements to their recording repertoire. Some of my favorites are the arrangements on the Ds Poetry CD and the arrangement of the 23rd Psalm on the Old Testament CD.

Naturally we would like to have as many of these CDs in as many of our fans hands as possible but more importantly I would like as many people as possible to hear this music and decide for themselves if this is as good a music as I think it is.  I would love to get this out to more people, so if you have any ideas on how to get this to more people, send me a note and let me know.  You can contact me at dan@duanehiatt.com, or send a comment on our facebook page (facebook/inside.duane.hiatt)
